Did you attach expert advisor NewOrderCopier ? (*1 on image below):Make sure one of these experts is attached to ONE chart only in your MetaTrader. Only ONE chart. Orders from other experts or charts are even transmitted. Make your in MetaTrader Menu / Tools / Options / Experts "Allow DLL import" is checked.
Note: Run this expert only exlcusive, so with one and only one MetaTrader connected.
(It makes no sense to to have more than one sync. source.)
Check the log pages for RED messages:If one of the above experts are attached, check the logpage for RED error messages. Red messages mostly come from IBKR and report a problem related to order attributes or account.
Make sure you are connected to TWS or Gateway (*2 on image below): An order can only been placed when you are connected to TWS or Gateway. For this, API settings must be correct (check this video: Setup API client connection. When you are connected to TWS or Gateway, you can see your master account in the lower right of the MTIB Copier. Red means, your account is paper, green means you are connected to a live account.
IB contract not found for MT symbol (*4 on image below): This means, that your MetaTrader symbol is not linked to an IB contract. The IB contract - MetaTrader symbol linkage is done on page 'Contract Setup'. Double click on the target IB contract. In the upcoming dialog, type your MetaTrader symbol in the field next to 'Add MT Symbol' and click on 'Add MT Symbol', then click 'Ok'.
Wrong ordersize for IBKR order (*3 on image below): Each lot value must be translated into shares for IBKR order. Make sure the final IBKR ordersize is integer: 1,2,3,... On the contract page, check the "Shares per lot" value. This value is multiplied with the lot value of your MetaTrader order. The final value is rounded down. E.g. a final value of 0.75 is ZERO and no order placed. 2.24 is 2 and a 2 shares order get placed.
Missing account information: Some IB accounts have more than one account, in particular FA accounts. This requires to tell IB, what account to be used for an order. You can setup this per MetaTrader instance. Go to the bridge page 1 (Setup), in the table to the right, double click on your MetaTrader and edit the allocation. If you just want to use single account, set allocation type to 'account' and Name of set to the name of the target account. You can also set any predefined allocation. Allocations are defined in TWS.
Margin violation: The size of Interactive Brokers order is too high and violates your current margin. Adjust ordersize or lot/shares muliplier for this contract in the contract setup page.
A MetaTrader order never been placed: Is your MetaTrader connected, your MetaTrader account funded (has money) and your trading NOT stopped somehow ? Please check this. Note: you can use the MTIB Order with MetaTrader demo- or live account.
